How it works
When and where:
We are open Monday - Friday with the earliest pickup time at 9:30 AM and the latest pickup time at 4:30 PM. We are currently servicing the neighborhoods of Petworth, Park View, Columbia Heights, 16th St. Heights, Crestwood, and Brightwood in Washington, D.C.
Cancellations must be made by 7:00 PM the night before. Cancellations made after this time will be charged in full.
Off-hour walks and visits:
If you find yourself in need of a walk outside of business hours, let us know! Though off-hour service is not guaranteed, we always do our best to accommodate. Off-hours are weekdays after 5:00 PM, weekends, and holidays listed as closed.
We accept credit card, cash, or personal check made payable to PupperScruff Pets LLC. There will be a $15 fee for bounced checks.
- Invoices will be emailed to clients around the 1st of the month listing a breakdown of projected walks needed in that upcoming month (running from the 1st - 30th/31st).
- Payments are always due on the 15th of the month. If the 15th falls on a weekend or a day that your pet is not scheduled, cash or check payment will be due on the preceding scheduled day. If you have a credit card on file, your card will be automatically charged on the 15th of the month.
- If you find that there are days that you'd like to add or cancel a walk, respond to the invoice email letting us know. We will promptly update the schedule and resend an updated invoice. We will continue to send updated invoices until the 15th. All schedule changes made after the 15th will be reflected in the following month's invoice.
Pet sitting payments:
- Pet sitting payments are due on the first day of service rendered. For our regular daily dog walking clients, the pet sitting fee will be included in your monthly invoice.
We are closed on: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day + the Friday directly after, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and the entire week between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day.
We are open on: Martin Luther King Day, Presidents' Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day
How weather conditions might effect service:
For the welfare of both the dog and dog walker, walks will be shortened 10-15 minutes during severe weather conditions. Severe conditions include extreme cold, heat, or air quality over 100° (code "Orange"), which is considered unhealthy by the EPA for sensitive groups, such as people who work outdoors. These factors may also effect travel time and time windows. You can help by keeping your sidewalks, stairs, and entryways clear and safe.
If the Federal Government closes due to weather conditions, PupperScruff will also close.
